📋 Description

• Own cross-cutting technical direction across service boundaries, contracts, data architecture, and platform evolution • Lead architecture across decomposition and front-end replatforming programs • Create architecture decision records, conduct design reviews, document trade-offs, and provide written reasoning • Gather dependent teams’ requirements before designing and validate designs against real consumers • Coach tech leads through their own designs and increase the number of people who can architect • Keep designs as simple as the problem allows • Partner with AI Operations and DevOps to enforce architecture through contracts, validation, and delivery gates • Guide how AI agents design and modify systems so machine-produced code remains within human-owned structure • Support an AI-native development lifecycle in which agents help plan, build, validate, and release while humans own judgment and direction

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including several years driving architecture across multiple teams in SaaS or platform environments • Track record of designs that shipped and held up in production • Real experience decomposing a monolith into services in production • Fluency with agentic systems, LLM integration patterns, and architecture for codebases partially produced by agents • Experience in regulated environments such as FedRAMP, StateRAMP, HIPAA, or similar is a strong plus • Exceptional written and verbal clarity • Ability to restate requirements and confirm understanding before designing • Ability to surface confusion and uncertainty early • Consumer empathy for dependent teams’ constraints • Bias toward simple, maintainable designs • Comfort being wrong publicly and updating quickly • Must not require employer sponsorship for a work visa; SimpliGov does not sponsor applicants for work visas
