📋 Description

• Serve as the senior hardware engineering leader for the Building Automation department • Establish, maintain, and improve engineering standards, design practices, workflows, and deliverable expectations • Provide technical leadership for DDC/Niagara control systems, industrial control panels, field integration, EPMS integrations, and HVAC applications • Lead project setup, technical strategy, review structures, resource alignment, risk identification, and quality oversight • Support first-of-a-kind programs, new client standards, and complex delivery models • Maintain accountability for the quality, consistency, and completeness of hardware engineering deliverables • Define and ensure execution of quality-control processes and technical reviews • Assign engineering resources according to project complexity, client requirements, schedules, and staff development needs • Partner on hiring, staffing strategy, organizational planning, and capability development • Develop technical leaders, establish training priorities, and build department capability through mentoring and standardization • Support business development and preconstruction with technical input on control architecture, engineering risk, staffing, and delivery approach • Participate in client-facing discussions for major pursuits and strategic programs • Coordinate with project management, construction, BIM/VDC, procurement, commissioning, software, executive leadership, clients, vendors, and strategic partners • Communicate engineering risks, quality concerns, staffing needs, and technical priorities across the organization • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget • Perform other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Expert knowledge of DDC and Niagara systems for Building Automation applications • Expert knowledge of BAS and EPMS hardware engineering in complex mission-critical environments • Expert knowledge of industrial control panel design, component selection, layout, integration, and constructability • Advanced ability to develop and enforce engineering standards, review processes, and quality expectations • Advanced ability to lead engineering teams delivering complex control-system projects • Advanced resource assignment and technical talent matching skills • Ability to guide clients through BAS/EPMS designs, standards, options, needs, and tradeoffs • Ability to evaluate first-of-a-kind requirements and establish risk-reducing engineering strategies • Knowledge of construction design processes, stakeholders, deliverables, and mission-critical workflows • Knowledge of data-center HVAC applications, chilled-water plants, heat rejection, airside systems, and control strategies • Knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, actuators, valves, and field devices • Knowledge of control-system networking, including addressing, VLANs, LANs, switches, routers, firewalls, and IT/OT interfaces • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, MQTT, and related integrations • Knowledge of EPMS integration and BAS, PLC, SCADA, and power-monitoring relationships • Knowledge of applicable code, safety requirements, and energy guidelines • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams • Ability to identify organizational capability gaps and implement staffing, process, and training improvements • Ability to mentor Level 5 lead engineers and develop technical leadership • Effective written and oral communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders • Ability to communicate directly with clients in strategic and high-visibility discussions • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment • Ability to use AI and emerging technologies to improve workflows, quality, and engineering operations • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines • Ability to achieve NFPA70E and/or OSHA training certification if required • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related discipline, or eight years of hands-on controls infrastructure experience • Minimum ten years of additional experience with BAS, EPMS, DDC, and/or Niagara controls engineering • Significant experience leading engineering execution for large-scale mission-critical, industrial, or hyperscale data-center projects • At least half of the experience should be in mission-critical or other Building Automation markets • Controls design and design project management experience • Up to 15% travel, potentially to any or all 50 U.S. states • Valid REAL ID or acceptable alternative, such as a passport, for business air travel beginning May 7, 2025
