📋 Description

• Serve as a BESS subject matter expert for engineering scopes including equipment layout, electrical integration, controls, fire protection interfaces, commissioning support, and project execution. • Coordinate Engineers of Record, vendors, consultants, fire protection engineers, AHJs, owners, and project stakeholders. • Review BESS drawings, specifications, technical reports, vendor documentation, commissioning documentation, and integration deliverables. • Track engineering action items, review comments, responses, and design revisions through closure. • Support resolution of technical conflicts, constructability concerns, field questions, and coordination issues. • Review technical materials covering BESS architecture, layouts, single-line diagrams, control narratives, vendor packages, augmentation, fire protection, and project integration. • Provide senior-level engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and initial operations. • Support RFIs, engineering clarifications, field issue resolution, design revisions, commissioning findings, startup issues, punch lists, and turnover. • Participate in warranty investigations, root-cause evaluations, and corrective action development. • Contribute to BESS engineering standards, workflows, SWIs, trackers, comment logs, and best-practice documents. • Serve as a technical escalation resource and provide guidance, lessons learned, and SME support to field and project teams. • Support high-risk scope reviews, portfolio-level technical insights, and recurring issue trend analysis. • Mentor Construction Engineering staff through technical guidance, document review, and knowledge sharing without direct supervisory responsibility.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required. • 3–5+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, BESS engineering, EPC, utility-scale renewable energy, power systems, or energy storage. • Strong understanding of BESS design, integration, commissioning interfaces, battery systems, inverters, BMS, EMS, controls, grid interconnection equipment, and project execution requirements. • Ability to coordinate EORs, vendors, consultants, AHJs, owners, and internal project teams to resolve complex engineering issues and complete deliverables. • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, vendor documentation, commissioning documentation, fire protection documentation, and BESS technical deliverables. • Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IBC, ASCE, NFPA 855, UL 9540, UL 9540A, utility requirements, and project-specific standards. • Strong analytical skills for synthesizing technical documentation, evaluating design assumptions, and developing engineering recommendations. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for leading technical discussions with project stakeholders. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Ability to support field work, travel as required, and manage multiple concurrent complex scopes. • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future. • Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, document control systems, and BESS or power system analysis tools is preferred. • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
