📋 Description

• Serve as the primary point of contact for claims and litigation matters, including MPL medical defense, claims, and litigation • Receive, review, route, and respond to Service of Process • Conduct initial case intake by gathering facts, documents, and relevant information • Draft initial summaries of new matters for attorney review and assignment • Maintain the corporate litigation tracker and keep electronic files and supporting documents up to date • Monitor and update litigation calendars and deadlines • Coordinate with outside counsel, support discovery responses, and monitor MPL litigation milestones • Coordinate with the Director of Insurance to notify carriers of new claims and litigation and provide matter updates • Follow up with outside counsel for status updates and keep the internal legal team informed of changing risks • Collaborate with attorneys, carriers, and clinical leadership to gather MPL data for trend analysis and enterprise risk management • Meet periodically with business units to assess the claims pipeline and report to the Deputy General Counsel • Draft and review legal documents • Maintain confidential and secure legal files • Provide administrative support, assist with special projects, and perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and legal principles • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare-specific litigation processes • Knowledge of handling sensitive patient information and HIPAA compliance • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail and accuracy • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to handle confidential material reliably • Proficiency in artificial intelligence, Microsoft Office Suite, and litigation support software • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment • Strong interpersonal skills for sensitive situations • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field • Four years of experience as a paralegal in a corporate or legal environment • Experience in litigation, claims management, and regulatory compliance, particularly in healthcare, preferred • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution preferred
