📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive reviews of residential construction contracts for policy compliance • Identify and resolve contract inconsistencies and communicate risk implications to borrowers and builders • Conduct cursory builder reviews • Discuss the construction process and disclosures with builders and borrowers at loan application • Validate and finalize construction budgets for inspection/draw processes • Determine builder deposits and recoupment methods • Send welcome letters to customers and builders • Provide onboarding guidance to MLOs and approved items to CLA funding specialists • Review third-party inspection reports and make decisions on draw-related issues • Monitor the active construction loan portfolio for progress, negative trends, and risks • Ensure communication among all parties • Provide direction on disputed loans and lien/legal disputes, collaborating with Special Assets and Legal • Approve builders, contracts, final construction budgets, deposit advances and recoupment methods, and minor procedural exceptions • Assist with consumer loans involving legal/lien issues and provide guidance on insurance loss claims • Coach and mentor junior specialists, funding specialists, and mortgage personnel • Resolve complex situations and provide operational oversight throughout the construction loan lifecycle

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree • 10 years’ experience in residential mortgage lending, residential construction, or both • State Builder or General Contractor License • Extensive knowledge of residential mortgage lending and residential construction • Verbal communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and through electronic channels • Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and sustained attention to a monitor • Ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended periods of time • Ability to bend and reach • For remote positions, a secure and distraction-free setting with reliable internet connection; mobile hotspots are not acceptable
