📋 Description

• Determine the patient financial component for patient services • Estimate, communicate, and collect patient financial responsibility • Provide patient financial counseling • Assist patients in understanding insurance benefits, including co-payment, deductible, and co-insurance responsibilities • Educate patients about financial assistance programs when appropriate • Obtain patient demographic information and request financial responsibility from patients • Determine patient qualification for third-party payer coverage and inform the financial counselor, patient, or family member of status • Verify commercial insurance, workers compensation insurance, TPL insurance, and state and government program coverage • Document and resolve patient concerns or inquiries received by telephone, mail, or walk-in within established time frames • Validate the Master Patient Index according to departmental policy • Interpret physician orders • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Reside in Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience • Experience with Epic • Experience with call center operations • Experience with patient pre-registration processes • Strong computer proficiency • Excellent communication skills • Frequent keyboard use/data entry • Ability to perform stated physical requirements, including lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally • No professional license or certification required
