📋 Description

• Lead technical design of medium-to-large projects and break them into actionable work • Design and build full-stack features from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation • Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces and backend services and APIs • Support integrations with Azure Databricks, DevOps tooling, and related data platform services • Write well-tested, maintainable code and uphold engineering standards through code review • Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and operability of owned systems, cloud infrastructure, deployment workflows, and operational processes • Mentor engineers, share knowledge, and grow team technical skills • Collaborate with product managers and designers to scope requirements and deliver solutions • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to make models fast, accessible, transparent, and safe • Set technical direction for systems and partner with product, design, data science, machine learning, and engineering teams

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s preferred • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications • Strong proficiency across the stack, including a modern front-end framework, preferably Angular, and a backend language such as Node.js or Python • Track record of leading projects, making architectural decisions, delivering on time, and mentoring engineers • Strong Python API design skills using FastAPI or Flask • Experience designing APIs and working with relational, non-relational, and graph databases such as Neo4j • Experience configuring Azure Application Gateway and API management solutions such as Azure API Management or Kong Konnect • Experience implementing and optimizing API applications for sub-second performance • Experience load testing REST API applications with Apache JMeter or SOAPUI • Experience with package/dependency management tools such as Poetry and functional testing tools such as Pytest and PyLint • Experience with cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and infrastructure management, preferably Azure and Terraform • Working knowledge of data engineering concepts, including Databricks, MLflow, and production data pipelines • Experience with cloud WAF configuration and API security policies such as OAuth2/OIDC and JWT • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Git-based release workflows using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools • Experience working within Agile delivery / DevOps methodology • Commitment to testing, code quality, and continuous improvement • Ability to work independently and collaborate with Product Owners, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and AI Engineers • Clear written and verbal communication and ability to work effectively in a distributed, asynchronous team • Preferred: Docker, observability tooling, performance profiling, incident response, TypeScript, GraphQL, or event-driven architectures • Must pass criminal background investigation and employment, education, and licensing verification; all employees must be bondable
