📋 Description

• Handle litigation and other legal assignments in accordance with Law Department guidelines • Own cases and participate in litigation events • Meet with clients • Prepare and summarize reports for proceedings • Develop trial strategy and cases • Attend trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings • Collaborate with other attorneys and access support staff while maintaining ownership of files • Strategize on trial and case development throughout litigation

🎯 Requirements

• 0-10+ years litigation experience • Experience preferably in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers compensation; Assistant Public Defender or District Attorney experience may be considered • Jury trial experience preferred, but not required • Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience • Trial, mediation, and deposition experience • File ownership • Effective written and oral communication skills • Ability to work efficiently with cases in electronic form • Working knowledge of a Case Management system • Working knowledge of a Document Storage system • J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School with excellent academic credentials • Active law license to practice in California • Membership in good standing with the State Bar of California • Must be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; State Farm will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunities • Must cease all outside practice and suit involvement before joining State Farm, except authorized and pro bono work • Ability to travel via personal or commercial transportation to job-related activities • Irregular hours may be required
