• Provide psychometric expertise for K12 assessment programs and assessment-related initiatives • Review and compare interim and growth assessment options, including vendor documentation, norms, scoring methodologies, growth measures, research evidence, and administration requirements • Evaluate assessment fit for intended use and provide recommendations for assessment selection and renewal decisions • Review interim assessment results and identify unusual score changes, subgroup patterns, conflicting evidence, or results requiring deeper technical review • Conduct targeted reviews of flagged School Progress Meeting/Continuous Accountability Monitoring Plan results • Determine whether observed patterns reflect meaningful performance differences, measurement variation, administration issues, data-quality concerns, or assessment limitations • Evaluate reliability, validity, score distributions, measurement error, subgroup patterns, and other assessment-quality indicators • Identify data or methodological limitations affecting conclusions and provide interpretation guidance • Evaluate cross-assessment comparability and recommend when results can be compared or triangulated • Develop technical documentation, guidance, and resources for consistent interpretation of assessment results • Analyze relationships between interim and state assessments and evaluate correspondence with state proficiency and growth outcomes • Analyze student assessment growth results and apply established methodologies to evaluate vendor and state growth measures • Partner with Assessment, Accountability, Academics, Research, and Data teams • Communicate technical findings clearly to nontechnical audiences • Monitor developments in educational measurement, assessment validity and reliability, and K12 assessment practices • Recommend appropriate applications to existing assessment practices • Perform other duties as assigned
• Master's degree in Psychometrics, Educational Measurement, Quantitative Psychology, Applied/Educational Statistics, Research Methods, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience • 8 or more years of experience in psychometrics, educational measurement, or assessment-related analytic work, including experience with K12 assessment programs • Expertise applying reliability analysis, measurement error, score distribution analysis, and subgroup performance analysis • Experience analyzing and interpreting growth measures, including student growth percentiles, value-added, or vendor-specific growth models • Experience reviewing vendor technical documentation, norms, scoring methodologies, and reliability/validity evidence • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate complex technical/statistical findings for nontechnical audiences • Ability to work independently and exercise sound technical judgment on ambiguous or sensitive data-quality questions • Desired: Ph.D. in a related field • Desired: Experience supporting a school performance/accountability model or similar system • Desired: Familiarity with major K12 interim and formative assessment vendors and technical/psychometric documentation • Desired: Experience evaluating cross-assessment comparability or conducting assessment triangulation studies • Desired: Experience evaluating technical documentation and creating guidance or training resources • Desired: Experience with statistical/psychometric software such as R, SAS, Stata, WINSTEPS, flexMIRT, or similar • Desired: Familiarity with state assessment and accountability policy in a K12 context
