📋 Description

• Advise the Company concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges • Review, advise, and ensure compliance with state education, elementary and secondary education, and charter school laws and regulations • Ensure compliance with company and school policies applicable to public schools managed by the Company, including curriculum, special education, and school operations • Anticipate and identify legal, scholastic, and business issues • Counsel school administration to develop legal and business strategies and solutions in situations involving political, public relations, or financial risk or significance • Interact with counsel for districts and charter boards of schools • Draft and negotiate K-12 school management contracts, institutional sales contracts, and strategic alliances • Draft, review, assess, negotiate, develop, and verify complex contracts, including purchase agreements, customer contracts, SOWs, MSAs, and other agreements • Draft and negotiate vendor contracts, emphasizing licensing contracts • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations applicable to the Company • Engage and manage outside legal counsel when specialized legal expertise is needed • Act as the Company’s agent in transactions and provide dispute management and support • Advise internal teams on Company products • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree • Seven (7) years of experience in K-12 education law, with some exposure to administrative, corporate and contract law • Active State Bar License • Good interpersonal, leadership, negotiating, and consulting abilities • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, high-priority projects with attention to detail • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and web proficiency • Ability to travel 5% of the time • Ability to clear required background check
