📋 Description

• Serve as teacher of record for special education students • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process for self-contained and ALT students according to their IEPs • Monitor progress toward IEP goals and maintain required service logs and compliance documentation • Collaborate with parents, colleagues, general education teachers, and administrators on goals, curriculum, materials, accommodations, and modifications • Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state-specific special education documentation • Participate in annual IEP meetings, collaborative special education meetings, Professional Learning Communities, and data analysis meetings • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment and monitor student growth • Collect data and work samples to monitor IEP progress • Document parent contacts, teacher collaborations, and student interventions • Provide special education services and support accommodations to promote IEP goal attainment • Ensure inclusion and success in general education classrooms • Maintain grade books, support placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting • Support in-person student testing

🎯 Requirements

• Texas residency required • Texas Special Education and ESL preferred • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written/verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to support in-person student testing, attend professional development, or other travel as required by the school • Ability to clear required background check • Experience working with self-contained and ALT students in the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platform
