📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on students’ individual IEP needs • Manage the learning process and ensure special education and related services are delivered as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding student therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Ensure inclusion and student success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain a grade book, uphold academic integrity, and make placement and promotion decisions • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel up to 20% for professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Michigan Teaching Certification required • Special Education endorsement required • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Receptive to receiving coaching regularly from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. are eligible; out-of-state residents must have a Michigan teaching certification
