📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus on students’ individual needs as defined by each student’s Individualized Education Program • Work actively with students and parents to advance student learning • Maintain compliance documents required for serving students with special needs • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Use resources to provide accommodations and modifications, including assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contact and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Personalize learning and maintain high expectations for all students • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate promptly with students and parents/learning coaches • Support parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues

🎯 Requirements

• North Carolina Teaching Certification required • Special Education endorsement required • Residents of North Carolina or border states within a 30 mile radius; out-of-state residents must have North Carolina teaching certification • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Receptive to receiving regular coaching from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written/verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school
