📋 Description

• Partner with technical product management and key business stakeholders to lead technology direction, facilitate technical decision points, and deliver products • Interface with engineering groups and enterprise architecture; collaborate on integration projects, best practices, and introduction of new technologies • Commit to roadmaps with capabilities and timelines, evaluating and introducing new products and technologies • Align technology to business strategy and proactively drive technical direction throughout the organization • Adopt Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD) methodology and institute a frequent release cadence • Manage multiple teams of Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and DevOps, including full-time and contract resources • Directly supervise 5 or more FTE regular employees and/or contractors • Interview, hire, train, assign, direct, appraise, reward, and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems • Lead and mentor engineering team members • Provide innovation-focused thought leadership and disseminate information on product development, engineering, and development processes

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field AND three (3) years’ proven experience in software engineering leadership roles AND a strong engineering delivery and execution track record, with proven experience around the complete lifecycle of product development OR an equivalent combination of education and experience • Ability to attract talent, inspire the organization, and develop the next generation of leaders • Ability to build trusting, meaningful relationships with peers, stakeholders, and partners • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including influencing technical decisions and direction, conflict management, negotiation, and presentations • Full commitment to customer satisfaction • Ability to identify and drive innovation in products, technologies, processes, and solutions • High standards, results-oriented, proactive, and commitment to delivering high-quality software on time and within budget • Leadership skills including coaching/mentoring, critical thinking, facilitation, change leadership, and team development • Experience with software development and automation, including Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, build and test automation, orchestration/fulfillment, assurance, and performance • Relevant experience in large-scale application architecture/design, middleware architecture, integration architecture, application deployment methods, automation, testing, compliance, and auditing • Service-oriented and microservice architecture for highly available cloud-hosted applications and services in AWS • Understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices • Ability and desire to thrive in a proactive, high-pressure environment • Ability to clearly write technical specifications and strong estimating and planning skills • Experience with object-oriented design and design patterns • Solid understanding of source control and using it effectively • Experience working with offshore and distributed teams • Ability to pass/clear a required background check • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and web proficiency • Ability to travel 10% of the time • Certificates and licenses: None required
