📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning according to students’ individual needs • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using appropriate online tools under guidance from the principal and coach • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• North Carolina Middle School Teaching Certification required • Must reside in North Carolina • Bachelor’s degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday, typically 9–5 or 8–4 • Experience working with the proposed age group desired • Experience supporting adults and children with technology desired • Experience teaching in an online/virtual or brick-and-mortar environment desired • Experience with online learning platforms desired • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations and use them for instructional decisions • Receptiveness to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers • Ability to adapt to change to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
