📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and parents/learning coaches in a timely manner • Support parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel as required, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Michigan Teaching Certification required • Middle School Math certificate required • Must reside in Michigan • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Full-time availability, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Desired: experience working with the proposed age group • Desired: experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Desired: experience teaching online/virtually and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Desired: experience with online learning platforms • Desired: ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Desired: proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Desired: ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Desired: ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
