📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Personalize learning for all students • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under principal and coach guidance • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Travel as required, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Appropriate state Department of Education Middle School (5-8) Science Teaching Certification Required • Position is virtual and open to residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to travel occasionally for school functions, testing, professional development, and other required activities • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching online and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
