📋 Description

• Deliver specific middle school special education course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding therapies and student needs • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Support inclusion and student success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel up to 20% for professional development, student testing, or school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Appropriate and current Arkansas Department of Education Special Education Teaching Certification • Must reside in Arkansas • Ability to clear the required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Experience with the proposed age group preferred • Experience supporting adults and children with technology preferred • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment preferred • Experience with an online learning platform preferred
