📋 Description

• Promote student success through a comprehensive school counseling program • Guide learners in academic success, social and emotional development, and career and college planning • Help students plan postsecondary options, apply academic achievement strategies, and manage emotions and interpersonal skills • Focus students and families on college and career readiness • Meet quarterly with students on the caseload to review graduation plans and postsecondary options • Deliver classroom instruction based on student success standards • Review transcripts and other academic documentation • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop four-year graduation plans and audit student schedules for graduation candidacy • Assist with course placement, including Advanced Placement recommendations and enriched learning pathways • Analyze student data and develop data-driven intervention action plans • Provide short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support • Support teachers, staff, and parents • Support standardized testing, parent education, and staff development • Advocate for students at individual education plan and other student-focused meetings • Support goal setting and academic planning for college and career readiness • Travel up to 5% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Appropriate state Department of Education School Counselor Certification required • Residency in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C. • Bachelor's degree • Three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement • School Counselor License • Ability to clear required background check • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems • Flexible schedule • Ability to travel as needed • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Typically available to work 40+ hours per week during the school-defined schedule • Experience as a teacher desired • Experience with distance learning desired • Advanced coursework in counseling and administration desired • Master's degree in school counseling desired • Experience in a customer service environment desired • Experience with local, state, and federal laws and mandated reporting desired • Experience in a private or charter school environment preferred • Experience with state career planning systems, Pathfinder, or other career planning platforms/tools desired
