📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus on individual student needs as defined by each student’s IEP • Work actively with students and parents to advance student learning • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required state-specific special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Use resources to provide accommodations and modifications, including assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Support student success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate responsively with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support student outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• Active Special Education AND Math Teacher certificate • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Receptive to receiving coaching regularly from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written/verbal communication skills • Full-time availability, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday, typically 9-5 or 8-4 • Texas residency strongly preferred; residents of NM, OK, AR, or LA may be considered • Ability to travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school
