📋 Description

• Plan, organize, and control the total selling effort within the assigned territory • Achieve area sales budget objectives and assigned plans • Ensure distribution objectives are consistently attained for the Sun Gro product line to gain market share • Establish territory, distributor, and account objectives and develop plans for their accomplishment • Control and monitor sales expense budgets according to expense plan guidelines and policies • Deliver sales according to approved sales and marketing plans • Implement and control approved sales and marketing programs and procedures • Achieve assigned new account and distribution objectives • Canvas the market to gain insight and adapt to changing conditions • Maintain accurate and timely CRM data, including sales activities and account notes • Maintain a territory profile covering competitors, potential customers, distributors, and other business conditions • Communicate with supervisors and company departments about factors affecting the territory • Participate in regional meetings to plan and analyze business activities • Handle customer requests, problems, and special situations relating to product performance • Maintain company equipment for safety and professional appearance • Control assigned territory expense budgets • Submit sales and expense reports on time to meet monthly deadlines

🎯 Requirements

• Education in horticulture or equivalent experience preferred • Passion for horticulture with experience in lawn/garden retail or plant nurseries • Horticulture/Ag Certification is a plus (State/County courses or continuing education) • Greenhouse/Nursery production experience is a plus • Experience with Independent Garden Centers or horticulture departments in hardware stores • Ability and willingness to travel to cover territory needs and team activities • Organizational ability to plan, organize, and monitor activities according to priorities • Ability to establish schedules, deadlines, or quotas • Ability to develop results-oriented conclusions • Effective listening and communication skills • Ability to describe or explain information, concepts, ideas, or instructions to others • Ability to interface effectively with customers, the public, and co-workers • Decision-making ability to perceive and evaluate alternatives, analyze impacts, and make and implement decisions compatible with organizational goals • Ability to accurately assess market conditions and trends and convey them professionally • Ability to manage multiple distributors with absolute honesty and diplomacy
