📋 Description

• Represent Surefire Cyber as a technical and consulting resource for clients across diverse industries during active incident response engagements • Detect and analyze intrusions and guide clients through high-pressure response situations • Support clients through the incident response lifecycle from detection to recovery • Conduct advanced forensic analysis to determine the scope and impact of security incidents • Perform malware analysis and reverse engineering when necessary • Lead small to medium forensic investigations, including Business Email Compromise and ransomware engagements • Identify, articulate, and explain attack vectors, threat tactics, and attacker techniques • Communicate complex forensic findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Provide supporting evidence for written incident reports • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and clients to document incident response processes and best practices • Participate in research and development to stay current with forensic tools, techniques, and methodologies • Contribute to internal processes and broader organizational initiatives • Mentor less experienced team members • Provide after-hours on-call/weekend rotational support for critical incidents

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced knowledge in Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) • Former client-facing, forensic analysis, and investigation experience • Proven track record conducting forensic analysis independently on small to medium investigations • Experience in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, a related degree, industry certifications, or former professional experience as a Senior Forensic Consultant, Senior Cybersecurity Consultant, or Senior Incident Responder • Proficiency with digital forensic artifacts and tools such as ELK, Axiom, EnCase, FTK (Forensic Toolkit), open-source, or comparable tools • Professional experience with network analysis and intrusion detection tools • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Willingness to mentor, share knowledge, and expand the knowledge base • Ability to provide after-hours on-call/weekend rotational support as required • Expertise in every listed area is not required; candidates are encouraged to apply while continuing to learn
