📋 Description

• Build and lead Temporal’s Developer Advocacy team in North America • Manage, coach, and develop Developer Advocates by setting goals, expectations, and feedback practices • Co-develop talks, review demos, pair on content, and help advocates develop their stage presence and voice • Establish the team’s planning, event coverage, content-pipeline, and quality processes • Set strategy for developer awareness and consideration of Temporal in North America • Grow Temporal’s online developer audience through effective content formats and channels • Plan Temporal’s in-person presence across North America through events and partnerships • Develop and deliver use-case narratives, demos, workshops, and practical experiences about durable execution • Define success metrics, including engagement, knowledge retention, adoption, and usage • Identify relevant developer tools, frameworks, communities, and partnership opportunities • Build relationships with partner Developer Relations teams and community leaders • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales on messaging, campaigns, and technical narratives • Report metrics connecting advocacy activities to adoption and product impact • Travel frequently to the Bay Area when working remotely

🎯 Requirements

• Experience as a working software engineer who owned production systems and participated in on-call support • Senior-level developer advocacy experience as a Principal or Senior Staff individual contributor or manager • People management experience, or principal-level leadership with mentoring/program leadership and a clear desire to pursue management • Proven ability to create technical content that developers watch or read • Ability to teach complex distributed-systems concepts in talks, workshops, or one-on-one settings • Experience building programs requiring buy-in from teams not directly managed • Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% • Active open-source experience preferred, such as maintainer, regular contributor, or community organizer • Experience with distributed systems or workflow orchestration preferred • Experience with Temporal is a plus • Experience building developer workshops or training programs, or managing a large event calendar preferred • Experience working with Product Marketing on technical-product positioning preferred • Deep, active connections in the Bay Area developer community preferred
