📋 Description

• Accurately and productively code and abstract patient health documentation for Tenet facilities • Review flagged cases in CARDS and RevInt for coding accuracy • Assist with coding quality reviews, audits, and second-level reviews as needed • Attend Tenet coding education sessions • Maintain coding credentials • Assist with productive coding to maintain DNFC, quality chart reviews, new coder training, and other indicated projects

🎯 Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent is required • 1–3 years of inpatient coding experience • Skilled and working knowledge of MS Office suite • Strong technical background and electronic medical record experience • Successful completion of at least one AHIMA-certified program; related professional credential preferred (RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS) • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information, Nursing, or another related field preferred • Years of coding experience considered in lieu of educational requirements • 3+ years of inpatient coding experience preferred • Coding experience in a large, complex health system preferred • Successful completion of a pre-employment coding proficiency assessment
