📋 Description

• Assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection with engineering guidance and input for new capital projects • Review structural drawings and the work of consultants and contractors • Support lifecycle planning and execution for facilities and infrastructure along the international borders of the United States • Review engineering designs, proposed installations, in-place systems, infrastructure, and facilities; provide recommendations • Assist with planning, design review, and construction oversight of IST projects • Develop and prepare statements of work and cost estimates; review materials from stakeholders • Interact with IST Portfolio staff, USBP, OFO, AMO, consultants, and contractors • Serve as a program expert and spokesperson on technical engineering and construction issues • Present, explain, and defend technical matters to CBP, DHS, other government agencies, and public groups • Maintain and report status on assigned engineering work • Prepare and deliver reports, briefings, and communication materials on engineering efforts

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering • A current Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT preferred • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders • Ability to effectively solve problems • Strong oral and written communication skills • Available for approximately 20% travel • Must be a U.S. Citizen to acquire CBP BI and be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance • Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance • LMI will only consider applicants with security clearances or applicants eligible for security clearances
