Texas Association of Sports Officials is an independent organization that provides support, resources and training for Texas high school and middle school sports officials. With more than 160 local chapters serving 18,000+ members statewide, TASO offers membership and renewal services across multiple sports (baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, volleyball, water polo), training courses (the Texas Way Officials Course), clinics and events, reporting and incident forms, vendor partnerships, insurance resources, and communications such as a weekly newsletter. TASO works closely with the UIL, TAPPS and other Texas athletic organizations to promote fair, safe and well-officiated scholastic competition.

📋 Description

• Consult with TAC Health and Employee Benefits Pool and Unemployment Compensation Group Account Fund members regarding employee benefits programs • Manage accounts for fully pooled, fully insured, and self-insured members in an assigned territory • Develop strategies to deliver employee benefit programs • Market Pool and Fund services to current and prospective members • Maintain knowledge of Pool coverages, healthcare contracts, financial reports, and applicable laws including COBRA, PPACA, HIPAA, and Medicare • Visit current and prospective members and build relationships with governing bodies and key contacts • Provide information for Requests for Proposals and Requests for Quotes • Conduct semi-annual and annual financial performance reviews • Develop and deliver presentations on employee benefit proposals and programs • Monitor and analyze legislation and employee-benefits trends and notify members of relevant changes • Coordinate with Employee Benefits Specialists, Wellness Consultants, and TAC staff on member services and renewals • Maintain expertise in employee-benefits funding and delivery, including POS, HMO, EPO, pooling, and ASO plans • Maintain product knowledge in life, dental, vision, and Medicare supplement plans • Participate in special projects and perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Residence in Texas required; residence in the assigned territory preferred • Strong knowledge of marketing or administering employee health benefits programs required • Bachelor’s Degree in business, insurance, marketing or related field or equivalent experience preferred but not required • Minimum of three years’ experience marketing or administering health, dental and ancillary coverages, and life insurance preferred • Proven track record of health insurance marketing preferred • Obtain State of Texas general lines life, accident, health and HMO insurance license within 24 months from the date of hire • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to relate to persons with varied cultural, economic and educational backgrounds • High degree of professionalism • Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision • Excellent time management and record keeping • Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record required; must be able to drive • Extensive travel capability, including up to 80% overnight travel in Texas
