📋 Description

• Guide students through their academic day over video, keeping them focused, on task, and progressing through learning at pace • Mentor students on the mental game, training habits, the competitive path, and balancing school with serious sport • Build a trusted relationship and provide guidance, accountability, and honest feedback across school and sport • Help students navigate the learning platform, work through difficult material, and develop study and time-management habits • Reinforce standards for effort, focus, and conduct; provide direct feedback and praise • Communicate clear, honest updates to parents and academy staff about academic progress, athletic engagement, and next steps

🎯 Requirements

• Senior-level figure skating competition experience in U.S. Figure Skating or internationally through ISU • Hands-on experience working with young people in coaching, tutoring, mentoring, camp counseling, teaching, or similar roles • Judgment to earn trust, maintain standards, give direct feedback, and recognize when a young athlete needs support • Clear, steady video communication and ability to run one-on-one sessions • Ability to provide useful written updates to parents and staff • Reliability, punctuality, follow-through, and organization • Remote in the U.S., with reliable internet and a quiet space for video sessions • Preferred/bonus: recent senior-level competition experience • Preferred/bonus: youth figure skating coaching, camp, or structured athletic-setting experience • Preferred/bonus: Professional Skaters Association credentials or comparable coaching certifications • Preferred/bonus: teaching, tutoring, or classroom leadership experience • Comfort with video, learning platforms, and messaging tools
