📋 Description

• Lead the architecture and development of software solutions, making strategic decisions that influence technical direction • Build technical solutions enhancing, optimizing, and iterating The RealReal’s Seller Platform • Build robust, scalable back-ends to empower seamless and engaging customer journeys • Work closely with Product partners, Engineering management, Product and business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams • Align technology development with business objectives and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Perform rigorous code reviews and advocate for best coding practices • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers • Research emerging technologies and trends in software engineering • Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions and anticipate potential issues

🎯 Requirements

• At least 8 years of software development experience • Required experience with Java and Ruby • Proven experience with the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies • Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently on complex issues • Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely • Experience using modern AI coding tools and autonomous engineering agents such as Cursor, Claude Code or GitHub Copilot Workspace • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) • 8+ years of software development experience with a track record of successfully shipping consumer or business facing products • Experience with Elixir is a plus • Familiarity with front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue • Familiarity with Gradle and Spring Boot • Familiarity with Python • Familiarity with AWS • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio
