📋 Description

• Provide nutritional consultation to cancer patients, families, and staff across prevention, treatment, recurrence, and palliative care • Advise and assist staff concerning patient nutritional status • Implement nutrition screening systems for cancer patients undergoing active treatment • Provide individualized nutrition assessments, counseling, and recommendations based on therapies and nutrition needs • Document clinical activity and assessments accurately in patient charts • Educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals on nutrition therapy • Follow up on patient progress regularly • Consult with staff on nutrition problems and issues • Provide ongoing nutrition classes addressing topics and research relevant to cancer patients • Review and evaluate nutritional literature and materials for staff use • Participate in staff orientation, training, and in-service education on nutrition issues, research, programs, and community resources • Collaborate with health professionals and develop nutrition education and resource materials • Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary patient-care rounds • Participate in developing, implementing, and revising patient care plans for patients receiving nutritional support • Attend education programs to maintain current nutrition expertise • Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, and Business Standards

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics • Minimum three (3) years professional experience as a dietician, including hospital therapeutics, teaching and/or public health experience • Prior experience in oncology or home care environment preferred • Board Specialty certification in Oncology nutrition preferred • Current registered dietitian status through Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) • Current Texas state licensure as Registered Dietitian, as per state requirements • Must reside in Texas • Approximately 10% travel within Texas for site visits • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred • Ability to meet physical demands including handling and lifting patients, standing for extensive periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs • Corrected vision and hearing within normal range
