📋 Description

• Install sophisticated equipment on-site and follow testing procedures to ensure accurate working order • Conduct scheduled planned maintenance visits on-site • Diagnose and repair equipment for customers and other field personnel • Develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel • Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel • Complete and submit field service reports • Train customers and users on system maintenance • Provide feedback to product quality teams • Update and correct Thermo Fisher system documentation • Provide input for reports, including identifying and isolating outstanding system problems • Act as a subject expert and resource for training • Deliver service for SEM, TEM, FIB, and similar analytical and scientific instruments across research, industrial, and healthcare settings

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in electronic systems, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems • Detailed understanding and extensive experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems, or similar systems • Professional working proficiency in English • Consistent record of fixing sophisticated systems and subsystems down to the component level • Literacy in MS DOS and Windows software environments • Ability to read and interpret schematics • Familiarity with UHV phenomenon and technology • Ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required • Valid driver's license • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Some degree of PPE required • Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
