📋 Description

• Handle first-party property claims of moderate severity and complexity • Investigate, evaluate, estimate, and negotiate personal or business property claims • Complete field inspections, including damage scopes, photographs, written estimates, and/or computer-assisted estimates • Use innovative technologies and Xactimate-related estimating tools • Investigate coverage, damages, liability, business interruption calculations, leases, contracts, by-laws, and other relevant documents • Secure recorded or written statements as appropriate • Establish timely and accurate claim and expense reserves • Determine settlement amounts using estimates, actual cash value, replacement value, contractor estimate validation, appraisals, limits, deductibles, and independent adjuster work product • Negotiate settlements with contractors, insureds’ representatives, and other constituents within authority limits • Write denial letters, Reservation of Rights letters, and other complex correspondence • Maintain claim diaries and document file activities and required data • Manage file inventory for timely case resolution and comply with state regulations • Provide customer service to insureds, agents, and internal and external business partners • Refer claims to Special Investigations, Subrogation, and Major Case Units when appropriate • Provide multiline claim-handling assistance for Auto, Workers Compensation, General Liability, and other business areas • Mentor and coach less experienced claim professionals as needed • Attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials, and other legal proceedings as needed • Participate in Travelers’ Catastrophe Response Program, including out-of-state deployments • Perform rotational resolution desk technical and follow-up call work • Perform administrative functions such as expense accounts and time-off reporting • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • One year previous outside property claim handling experience or successful completion of Travelers Outside Claim Representative training program • Bachelor's Degree • Two or more years of previous outside property claim handling experience • General knowledge of estimating system Xactimate • Advanced interpersonal and customer service skills • Advanced organizational and time management skills • Intermediate ability to work independently • Intermediate judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills • Intermediate negotiation skills • Intermediate written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Intermediate investigative skills • Intermediate ability to analyze and determine coverage • Intermediate ability to analyze and evaluate damages • Intermediate ability to resolve claims within settlement authority • Valid passport • Valid driver's license • Ability to access and inspect all areas of a dwelling or structure • Ability to carry, set up, and climb a ladder weighing approximately 38 to 49 pounds • Ability to walk on roofs and enter tight spaces, including attic staircases, entries, and crawl spaces • Must participate in the Catastrophe Response Program, including deployments away for a minimum of 16 days • Must secure and maintain a company credit card • Insurance license(s) and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification may be required; generally required insurance license(s) must be obtained within three months of starting the role • Ongoing continuing education requirements for insurance license(s) must be maintained
