• Produce reports related to Trellis Strategies client needs • Conduct qualitative research projects • Support researchers as a member of project teams • Administer survey instruments and conduct interviews and focus groups • Code transcripts and relevant data • Use MS Excel and similar tools to query internal and public databases and generate reports and databases • Perform quality control, including reconciling and proofreading reports • Lead standard qualitative research projects • Navigate publicly available databases and conduct landscape assessments • Draft reports on best practices in postsecondary education and workforce development • Develop and recommend research and data management techniques • Acquire, organize, interpret, and display data • Perform quality control checks on team reports • Manage data and perform data cleaning • Build tables in MS Excel • Develop communication tools, research briefs, and social media outreach • Contribute to project and informal research teams • Support recruitment for large-scale research projects through participant outreach, client communication, and recruitment tracking • Use AI tools for transcription, preliminary coding, and landscape scans while reviewing outputs and following data privacy, confidentiality, and IRB requirements • Respond to internal and external requests for ad hoc reports • Contribute to strategic initiatives and support department functions
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or social sciences, or related area • One (1) year of working with student success research or two (2) years of research in another social science or policy area • Three (3) years of data reporting, including written analysis, table and graph creation, and verbal presentations to management • Graduate training in business administration or the social sciences may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the three (3) years of data and management reporting • Skilled in utilizing AI-enabled tools and technologies • Strong communication and writing skills • Strong analytical and qualitative research skills • Ability to use qualitative analytical tools such as MAXQDA and Atlas.ti • Strong MS Office skillset, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Data reporting skills • Knowledge and understanding of issues related to college student success and financial challenges • Good time management • Strong attention to detail • Knowledge of higher education public policy • Ability to program in qualitative coding software • Must be available to work flexible hours • Preferred: Graduate degree • Preferred: Experience cleaning data, building tables in MS Excel, and coding qualitative data • Preferred: Experience conducting interviews and writing research papers • Preferred: Project management training or experience
