• Capture, analyze and report data to assist Trinity Health leadership in achieving operational efficiency • Audit departmental information, produce reports and suggest process improvements • Research, collect and analyze information; identify opportunities, develop solutions and lead through resolution • Collaborate on performance improvement activities based on program efficiency and patient experience outcomes • Distribute analytical reports • Use multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports and develop educational materials • Research and compile information for ad-hoc operational projects and initiatives • Synthesize and analyze data, provide detailed summaries and graphical presentations of trends, and recommend practical solutions • Leverage program and operational data to define and demonstrate progress, ROI and impacts • Ensure accurate CPT and/or ICD-10 documentation for patient billing and educate colleagues and providers on accurate documentation and coding • Maintain charge capture process documentation and review process adherence to identify missing charges • Coordinate with stakeholders on system change requests and process upgrades to ensure charge capture accuracy • Oversee charge reconciliation for assigned departments, including daily and monthly reconciliations • Provide guidance to clinical departments on reconciliation processes, supply charges, duplicate charges and documentation deficiencies • Perform charge entry/capture, charge approvals and quality charge reviews, including appending modifiers and checking clinical documentation • Review quality reports identifying missing, duplicate and late charges; maintain reference logs and reporting tools • Support denial-related charge reviews through clinical documentation analysis, root-cause analysis and education
• High school diploma or GED • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of relevant work experience in a hospital and/or Physician Practice environment • Experience in revenue cycle, billing, coding and/or patient financial services • Experience working with current medical terminology, data entry, supply chain processes, hospital and/or Medical Group practice operations • Knowledge of hospital and/or Physician group practice revenue cycle front-end functions, such as patient registration, that may impact charge-related errors • Knowledge of billing and regulatory guidelines related to charging and other revenue cycle processes • Ability to assist clinical departments and/or physician practices with changes to charging practices based on guidelines • Familiarity with CPT and/or ICD-10 documentation and charge capture processes • Additional certifications/credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC/COC, AAPC, CHC or CHRI are preferred, not required • Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse licensure preferred, not required
