📋 Description

• Research, collect, analyze, synthesize, and summarize operational and clinical data • Produce and distribute analytical reports with graphical presentations of trends • Recommend practical options and solutions to support leadership decision-making • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead solutions through resolution • Collaborate on performance improvement activities related to program efficiency and patient experience • Use multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials • Research and compile information for ad-hoc operational projects and initiatives • Define and demonstrate progress, ROI, and operational impacts using program data and measurements • Ensure accurate CPT and/or ICD-10 documentation for patient billing • Educate colleagues and providers on accurate service documentation and appropriate coding • Maintain documentation regarding charge capture processes • Review process adherence and identify missing charges • Coordinate with stakeholders on system change requests and process upgrades • Provide oversight of charge reconciliation for assigned departments, including daily and monthly reconciliations • Perform charge entry/capture, charge approvals, quality charge reviews, modifier appending, and clinical documentation checks • Provide feedback to Revenue Integrity colleagues on improvement opportunities • Assist with denial-related charge reviews, clinical documentation analysis, root cause analysis, and education • Perform daily reconciliation and provide at-the-elbow support to ancillary departments • Verify supply and implant charges, identify duplicate charges, and communicate documentation or charge deficiencies and errors

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or GED • Minimum three (3) years of relevant coding and charge control work experience in a hospital and/or Physician Practice environment • Experience in revenue cycle, billing, coding and/or patient financial services • Experience working with current clinical processes, charge master maintenance, clinical coding guidelines, charging processes and audits, and clinical billing • Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, data entry, supply chain processes, hospital and/or Medical Group practice operations • Experience with Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC), Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS), Outpatient Coding Edits (OCE), Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) edits, and Discharged Note Final Billed (DNFB) • Ability to perform charge capture processes and investigate charge errors • Experience working with hospital and/or Physician group practice revenue cycle front-end and back-end functions • RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC/COC or other coding credentials and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse licensure is required • Epic experience desired • CHC (Healthcare Compliance Certification) preferred • CHRI certification/membership strongly preferred • Knowledge of clinical documentation improvement processes strongly preferred • Ability to comply with applicable laws, regulations, Trinity Health policies, procedures, guidelines, and Code of Conduct • Ability to use computers and other technology • Ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds unassisted occasionally • Ability to provide assistance in an emergency
