📋 Description
• Abstract clinical information from medical records, charts, and documents • Assign appropriate ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes to patient records • Work with coding databases • Confirm DRG assignments • Input and maintain procedure data required for state or other reporting • Perform coding across multiple specialties • Report to a manager and work under moderate supervision
🎯 Requirements
• Typically requires 4+ years of related experience • May require an associate degree • Typically requires AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA CCS • Proficiency in coding across multiple specialties • Experience with ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 coding • Knowledge of DRG assignments and coding databases • Ability to input and maintain data for state or other reporting • Ability to work under moderate supervision
