Turnkey targets developers and enterprises building embedded wallets, DeFi/trading apps, payment flows, and other blockchain-native consumer applications that need low-latency, multichain signing, policy-based access controls, and high-availability infrastructure.

📋 Description

• Own the engineering strategy and technical vision for Turnkey's Platform Engineering organization, spanning infrastructure, reliability and performance, releases and internal tooling • Build, manage, and grow a high-performing engineering org, including hiring and developing engineering managers and senior ICs • Partner closely with Product Engineering and company leadership to ensure platform investments align with customer and business needs • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, and guide their integration into the platform • Contribute to company-wide strategic planning and technical decision-making as a member of the engineering leadership team • Define and evolve the org structure, leveling, and career paths for the Platform Engineering team as it scales • Drive recruitment, onboarding, and retention of infrastructure and security-minded engineering talent • Set and uphold engineering rituals, including on-call, incident review, and capacity planning • Coach and develop managers and senior engineers, building a durable leadership bench • Provide strategic technical guidance across foundational systems to support long-term scalability, security, and reliability • Oversee the design and implementation of cloud and network infrastructure, company-wide security architecture and controls, and operational tooling and practices • Ensure infrastructure scalability, security, and reliability, addressing distributed systems and adversarial threat models • Define and drive processes for security reviews, capacity planning, testing, and incident response

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience managing engineering managers and/or leading a multi-team engineering org (not just individual teams) • Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and security architecture, with the ability to lead in-depth technical discussions and make final calls on tradeoffs • A track record of operating and scaling infrastructure that demands high availability, performance, and a strong security posture • Excellence at holding a high bar on software quality and engineering process, even while moving fast • Prior experience working in fast-paced crypto/web3 and/or FinTech companies, especially with exposure to security-critical infrastructure • Experience scaling an infrastructure org through a significant growth stage (e.g., Series B → C, or comparable) • Actively tracking developments in the crypto ecosystem and opinionated on where it's going • A healthy amount of paranoia :-)
