📋 Description

• Help grow Tyson & Mendes’ Connecticut civil defense practice • Independently manage complex litigation and full case handling responsibilities • Develop case strategy and compelling case themes • Manage discovery and take and defend depositions • Handle substantive motion practice, court appearances, briefs, and trials • Communicate routinely and directly with clients, carriers, and experts • Evaluate exposure and prepare matters for mediation and trial • Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients • Help develop teams and strengthen the firm’s Connecticut market presence • Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys • Mentor colleagues and contribute to a collaborative Northeast practice • Build toward greater leadership as the Connecticut office develops

🎯 Requirements

• JD from an ABA approved school • Active Connecticut Bar license required • Admission in New York highly valued but not required • 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation • Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial • Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred • Experience with time management systems • Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision • Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills • Professional appearance and demeanor • Connecticut litigation experience, including familiarity with local courts, procedures, and practice environment • Trial experience and confidence taking responsibility when a case needs to be tried
