U. S. Ski & Snowboard Team is the national governing body and elite athlete program representing U. S. competitors across skiing and snowboarding disciplines. The organization fields and manages national teams, develops athletes through training programs and regional clubs, organizes events and competitions, provides athlete services (coaching, sports medicine, and development), and engages fans and partners through media, membership, and fundraising activities to support competitive success and sport growth.

📋 Description

• Provide technical coaching and leadership for the Freeride Pro Team • Plan and lead team training sessions and camps • Conduct video review and facilitate high-performance needs • Plan competition schedules and strategies • Execute logistics with all team athletes • Establish technical, physical, and mental goals with each athlete • Create, track, and update Athlete Development Plans throughout the season • Develop and lead the Freeride Pro Team travel, training, and competition schedule • Travel with athletes to assist with in-transit needs when needed • Develop and manage Freeride Team selection criteria • Educate and communicate selection criteria to team athletes, clubs, academies, regional programs, parents, and others • Manage travel expenses and develop project sheets estimating costs per athlete • Communicate, track, and balance project expenses through monthly reports with the Team Manager and Sport Director

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive travel required • Minimum 5+ years coaching experience in a high-level domestic program or elite-level international program • Minimum Level 300 Coaches Certification preferred • Knowledge of technical aspects of coaching Freeride skiing athletes • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Ability to manage projects independently or in coordination with other coaches/programs • Accounting and budget management skills • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video review/editing • Strong winter driving skills • Ability to operate manual transmission recommended • Ability to ski to and from training and course venues • Ability to access all parts of a Freeride Course Venue • Ability to drive long distances around the world with athletes • Contractor must accept the risks of working in extreme weather conditions and provide services within reason
