📋 Description

• Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Fund Accounting Department supporting retail alternative products, including interval funds, tender offer funds, and BDCs • Oversee the launch of new funds, fund mergers, fund conversions, and advisor/sub-advisor changes • Occasionally perform daily review processes when Senior Associates and Managers are out of the office • Oversee accounting activities supporting retail alternatives fund accounting • Oversee training and development of key concepts related to retail alternative funds • Support continuous improvement initiatives in the operating model • Provide leadership and consulting support to executives and management on people management, goal setting, policy development, and strategic implementation • Participate in development and execution of the annual Strategic Plan and communicate it to the department • Participate in daily, monthly, and quarterly meetings with executive management regarding department issues • Conceptualize and implement initiatives supporting business objectives • Ensure adequate department resources for timely and complete reporting to clients and NASDAQ • Work with the SVP and Executive team on long-range goals, strategies, plans, policies, and system upgrades • Identify efficiency improvements and recommend fund allocations and process changes • Review compliance with regulatory restrictions and recommend accounting procedure changes • Coordinate departmental disaster recovery efforts • Support independent SOC1 audits through research, documentation, responses, and coordination • Review operational controls for adequacy, compliance, and data integrity • Manage associates, including hiring, training, development, delegation, performance appraisals, salary recommendations, coaching, counseling, and corrective actions • Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings • Establish team and individual goals and hold associates accountable • Communicate company information and changes to associates • Mentor associates through instruction, coaching, on-the-job experiences, and advising • Manage client requests and coordinate calls for new fund setups • Communicate with fund administration, transfer agency, and custodians regarding fund accounting activities • Perform other duties as required and assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent • 8+ years of experience in a related field • 3-5 years of management and leadership experience • Equivalent education and experience will be considered • Knowledge of FIS InvestOne • Knowledge of Spectra and OLE • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles • Knowledge of complex securities such as derivatives, private equity, private credit, and syndicated loans • Knowledge of complex fund structures with Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) and Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFC) • Knowledge of financial industry terminology • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat • Strategic thinking, analytical, organizational, multitasking, and critical thinking skills • Ability to plan, delegate, motivate, develop systems and procedures, troubleshoot issues, communicate clearly, and manage priorities • Ability to occasionally work beyond the normal workday or work week as business needs arise • Ability to sit and stand regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. • Specific vision abilities required
