📋 Description

• Respond to high-volume appointment requests through telephone calls, emails, work queues, and electronic messages • Schedule medical exams, procedures, tests, and patient appointments • Answer and triage incoming calls and requests professionally and politely • Complete scheduling from work queues for referrals, bumped appointments, reschedules, no-shows, direct/open scheduling, and wait lists • Remind patients about referrals, medications, and items needed for appointments • Apply provider scheduling protocols and template guardrails • Communicate pre-visit instructions, insurance requirements, and appointment preparation details • Document and distribute clinical and escalation messages to technicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians • Handle inquiries about accepted insurance, office hours, services, locations, exam fees, and physician information • Accept, document, and schedule referrals from social workers, discharge planners, physicians, and physician offices • Record referral information for verification and follow-up

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred • Entry-level computer and data-entry skills • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, patient access, healthcare administration, or a related service-oriented role • Healthcare-setting experience preferred • Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills • Ability to handle complex customer interactions and resolve concerns independently • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Empathy, professionalism, patience, and active listening • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and service excellence • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills • Experience navigating multiple computer applications and systems simultaneously • Ability to learn new systems, workflows, and processes • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment preferred • Knowledge of medical scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or prior authorization processes • Experience mentoring or supporting new team members • Eligible residence in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, or Texas
