📋 Description

• Perform ICD and CPT coding, data entry, and claims processing for office E&M charges, procedures, imaging, infusions, labs, and other provider services • Scrub claims for clean claim submission • Work appeals and denials promptly and create solutions to prevent future denials • Communicate and work with the billing company, hospitals, and insurance payers • Assign accurate ICD and CPT codes and appropriate modifiers • Review and analyze patient records to determine coding levels and billable services • Research coding and claims questions to maintain quality standards • Support office managers and staff with coding and billing practices • Participate in coding audits and educational activities • Maintain current knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, CMS, and payer coding and billing guidelines • Meet or exceed quality and productivity standards • Answer emails and voicemails and return calls promptly • Complete information requests from staff to support payment on patient accounts • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality • Participate in staff meetings • Cross-train and perform other practice functions and special projects as assigned • Report to the Revenue Cycle Manager

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required • CPC required • 3-4 years of coding and/or medical office and billing experience • Skills and knowledge of EMR software functionality and operations • Proficiency in multiple Microsoft Office applications • Knowledge and ability to respond to claims questions and denials • Advanced knowledge in E&M and procedural coding preferred • Specialty clinical experience in Gastroenterology preferred • Ability to provide a high level of quality patient care and customer service • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple delegated tasks within assigned time frames • Ability to work under pressure and communicate issues in a timely manner • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism • Ability to communicate clearly by telephone, email, and in person • Ability to interpret and apply clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures • Ability to sit and stand in a normal office environment • Travel as business needs dictate • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
