📋 Description

• Ensure United Way resource databases for the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo area are comprehensive, up-to-date, accurate, easy to use, and compliant with governing policies and criteria • Research, gather, and analyze community service information; complete daily database edits and full agency reviews • Build awareness of 2-1-1, ConnectCTX, and other United Way programs across the multi-region area • Engage and support community partners and social service providers in maintaining resource information and participating in closed-loop navigation • Provide outreach and education, attend community events, and create and conduct navigation programs and community resource trainings • Support frontline staff through resource databases, seasonal programs, training, resource verification, and new agency requests • Serve as operational lead for disaster resource response across the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo area, and South Central Texas region • Plan and execute disaster response efforts before, during, and after disasters • Serve as on-call point of contact for statewide 2-1-1 disaster resource coordination • Gather and disseminate time-sensitive information, including Resource News Items, Local Impact Summaries, and After Action Reports • Escalate contract-level decisions, statewide policy questions, and high-severity disaster events to the Community Resource & Engagement Sr. Manager • Assist other staff and perform additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience • At least three years of full-time work experience in community engagement, non-profit, disaster response, or library settings • Considerable knowledge of community resources, social service landscape, or disaster response efforts • Experience managing community resource databases or referral platforms strongly preferred • Familiarity with border-region social services, immigration-adjacent resource networks, and the community context of the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo area strongly preferred • Excellent writing and editing skills • Passion for improving access to information • Excellent communication skills and internal/external customer service skills are required • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred • Ability to work independently across a multi-region service area with minimal day-to-day oversight • Availability to work 24/7 and travel during scheduled disaster duty windows, including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for regional travel • Must reside within the Rio Grande Valley or Laredo area: Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Willacy, Jim Hogg, Webb, or Zapata counties
