⢠Provide financial administration and accounting for grants and contracts awarded to the University of Wisconsin-Madison by Federal and Non-Federal sources ⢠Answer questions and advise campus stakeholders on correct award-management processes and procedures ⢠Prepare and analyze financial reports, invoices, data, and records for sponsored grants and contracts ⢠Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend solutions to maintain accuracy ⢠Use the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to establish awards, review expenditures, issue invoices, manage accounts receivable, and process post-award modifications ⢠Analyze, interpret, and process complex extramural award actions in accordance with federal, state, university, and sponsor regulations ⢠Audit and approve financial transactions, including subaward invoices, PI transfers, refunds, payments, cost transfers, and fiscal closeout of awards and projects ⢠Collaborate with campus representatives to monitor, interpret, analyze, and reconcile sponsored-program financial data ⢠Interact directly with project sponsors and subrecipients regarding financial reporting, invoicing, payments, and auditing ⢠Deliver training to others ⢠Recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions within OVCR, RSP, Research Financial Services, and Post-Award units
⢠Excellent oral and written communication skills ⢠Ability to think critically and problem-solve ⢠Independent decision-making ⢠Attention to detail ⢠Customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively among unique groups ⢠Excellent organizational and time-management skills ⢠Ability to teach others and adjust to change ⢠Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) ⢠Knowledge of, or ability to learn, University, State, Federal, and/or Non-Federal rules and regulations related to sponsored programs, including Uniform Guidance and governmental cost accounting practices and principles ⢠Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Business, Accounting, or a closely related field ⢠Experience with sponsored project award management preferred ⢠Experience with creating, interpreting, and analyzing financial reports preferred ⢠Experience with complex financial systems and office software such as Workday, Microsoft products, and Perceptive Content preferred ⢠Experience with Workday and RAMP preferred ⢠Must ensure eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment ⢠Employment may require a criminal background check ⢠References may be required to answer questions regarding misconduct, including sexual violence and sexual harassment
