📋 Description

• Manage the day-to-day administration of Southeast Asian Language Council (SEALC) programs • Manage the four-year grant-funded project “Toward Sustainable Southeast Asian Language Education: Collaboration, Access, and Capacity Building” • Build collaborative relationships with North American centers and programs offering Southeast Asian languages • Coordinate with GETSEA, SEASSI, COTSEAL, language organizations, project staff, committees, stakeholders, curriculum developers, workshop hosts, presenters, and participants • Track national Southeast Asian language offerings and potential course-sharing, exchange, pilot, and scholarship opportunities • Communicate the value of Southeast Asian language instruction to students, academics, and the public • Plan and execute professional development workshops, project awards, and tuition awards • Advertise workshops, manage participant selection, administer surveys, arrange travel, summarize survey results, and collect deliverables • Coordinate honoraria and workshop expense invoices with financial staff and participants • Write workshop summary reports and gather and publish Virtual Language Institute information • Assist with scholarship applications for asynchronous language study • Create meeting agendas, attend meetings, take and distribute minutes, and prepare annual stakeholder meeting materials • Maintain the SEALC WordPress website, workshop pages, social media, and instructor newsletter • Assist the SEALC PI with annual reports to stakeholders and the Luce Foundation • Create project plans, monitor progress, identify and resolve or escalate risks and issues • Set priorities, allocate tasks, manage contractors, estimate costs and resources, monitor activities, and report project status

🎯 Requirements

• Required Bachelor's Degree • Plain Language series certificate required, or ability to enroll in this training at UW-Madison after hire if needed • Excellent oral and writing skills • Strong administrative skills, time management, and attention to detail • Google Suite, Qualtrics, Word, Excel, Zoom, and Box or other collaborative file-sharing services • Experience with website creation and maintenance, such as WordPress or another CMS • Experience with listserv mailings through MailChimp or other platforms • Ability to use social media platforms for project visibility and outreach • Ability to travel to face-to-face events • Occasional night and weekend availability • Ability to work independently and in a team with a diverse and multilingual constituency • Three professional references • Academic concentration in Southeast Asian Studies preferred • Project management experience preferred, preferably in an academic institution • Academic and/or work experience in Southeast Asia preferred • Employment may require a criminal background check and misconduct-related reference questions
