📋 Description

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, spool sheets, P&IDs, and job specifications • Plan installation sequencing and coordinate work to avoid conflicts with other trades • Select appropriate pipe materials and sizes based on project requirements • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and assemble piping using hand and power tools • Lay out and install carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC, and other piping systems • Fit, align, and secure piping systems before welding or mechanical joining • Join piping using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, cemented, or welded methods • Install pipe supports including hangers, brackets, clamps, and restraints in accordance with code • Assist welders with pipe preparation, alignment, and fit-up • Install and maintain mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, meters, and controls • Perform hydrostatic, pneumatic, and leak testing using appropriate diagnostic equipment • Inspect worksites for obstructions and verify structural integrity • Ensure work meets applicable codes, standards, and project specifications • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition • Follow OSHA regulations, company safety protocols, and PPE requirements • Communicate with supervisors, inspectors, and other trades

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a pipefitter in commercial or industrial mechanical construction • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on experience preferred • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and P&IDs • Strong skills in measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembling various piping systems • Experience with HVAC, hydronic, refrigeration, and/or process piping systems • Knowledge of piping codes, installation standards, and OSHA safety practices • Ability to perform basic math calculations and layout work accurately • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights • Ability to lift 50+ pounds • Valid driver’s license required • OSHA 10 status requested in the application • Comfort working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and emergency callouts • Availability to travel to various job sites • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; proof of eligibility required if hired
