📋 Description

• Own and evolve Upstart’s end-to-end credit conversion strategy from application start through offer acceptance and beyond • Solve high-impact conversion problems, including helping users understand differing offers and move forward confidently • Optimize Upstart’s credit portfolio, growing personal loans and matching users with suitable products • Define success metrics and prioritize high-ROI opportunities • Design and evaluate experiments where appropriate • Segment funnel data and turn analysis into product decisions • Build customer understanding with research, consumer insights, and product marketing teams • Influence engineering, design, analytics, ML, marketing, compliance, and executive leadership without direct authority • Use GenAI to synthesize qualitative inputs, conduct exploratory analysis, and prototype concepts

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience • Significant B2C ownership of high-scale mobile and desktop consumer experiences with proven business impact • Demonstrated success materially improving a complex conversion funnel through product strategy, experimentation, analytics, and customer insight • Track record of leading teams to specific KPIs such as conversion improvements and revenue • Exceptional quantitative judgment, including funnel-data assessment, behavioral segmentation, opportunity sizing, experiment interpretation, and downstream-effect analysis • Strong experimentation skills, including hypothesis development, experiment design, A/B testing, funnel analysis, and results analysis • Strong consumer product intuition around high-consideration decisions involving trust, uncertainty, or meaningful tradeoffs • Ability to move between strategic and detailed product questions • Track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives and aligning diverse stakeholders without organizational authority • Excellent written and verbal communication • Preferred: experience in fintech, lending, financial services, marketplaces, insurance, or another regulated high-consideration industry • Preferred: experience with personalization, recommendation systems, matching, pricing, or ML-powered consumer experiences • Preferred: familiarity with identity, bank linking, income verification, Plaid, or similar financial-data infrastructure • Preferred: experience building and scaling multi-product ecosystems or B2C marketplaces
