• Collect outstanding accounts receivable from government and commercial third-party payers • Contact insurance companies regarding outstanding claim status • Process and follow up on appeals to insurance companies • Refile claims as needed • Work correspondence daily • Audit and complete adjustment requests when appropriate • Resolve manual accounts-receivable follow-up tasks • Work outstanding accounts receivable from assigned work queues • Meet department productivity standards • Maintain an accuracy rating of at least 97% on audited accounts • Maintain strict confidentiality • Develop subject-matter expertise across multiple workflows and payers • Identify and communicate trends to leadership • Perform other assigned duties
• High school graduate or equivalent • 1–3 years professional/healthcare experience preferred • 1–3 years Accounts Receivable experience preferred • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units, reimbursement, percentages, and adjustments • Understanding of medical terminology • Advanced knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and EOBs • Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines • Accurate data entry skills • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and ASA codes • Problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills • Ability to gather and report information • Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with limited supervision • Self-motivated and goal-oriented • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams • Ability to meet the physical requirements, including occasional standing/walking, frequent sitting, frequent hand/finger movement, and verbal/written communication • Candidates residing in California, Hawaii, or Alaska are not eligible for hire
