📋 Description

• Review anesthesia documentation and other documentation for required elements, including attestations, signatures, and dates • Abstract and code surgical procedures from all CPT sections • Crosswalk surgical CPT codes to appropriate ASA codes • Apply applicable modifiers and ICD10 coding guidelines • Abstract anesthesia times and events • Identify and assign care team providers • Review for medical direction • Meet team KPIs, including daily production and quarterly coding audit score requirements • Follow departmental playbooks, pathways, company policies, HIPAA, and confidentiality requirements • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent • Current CPC required; CANPC is a plus • Minimum 2+ years of surgical coding experience; anesthesia coding experience is a plus • Minimum 2 years’ experience with complex surgical CPT and ICD10 • One year of anesthesia coding strongly preferred • Experience coding for physicians, CRNA, CAA, NP, SRNA, and residents • Knowledge of NCCI bundling, LCD/NCD, and CMS coding guidelines • Ability to review and determine start and end times, care team, and medical direction • Experience with multiple EMRs and documentation types/templates, including handwritten paper documentation and electronic medical records • Basic charge capture platform experience • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and Outlook skills • Ten-key proficiency • Ability to read, write, and speak English • Excellent computer skills • Ability to work independently and self-motivate new projects • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Candidates residing in California, Hawaii, or Alaska are not eligible; the posting identifies the role as US-TX-Houston
