📋 Description

• Review documentation for required elements, including attestations, signatures, and dates • Abstract and code surgical procedures from all sections of CPT and crosswalk surgical codes to ASA, including complex anesthesia cases • Apply appropriate modifiers • Code ICD10 • Code in varied locations and high-complexity cases • Abstract anesthesia times and events • Identify and assign care team providers • Review for medical direction • Meet team KPIs, including daily production and quarterly coding audit score requirements • Work in escalation workflows and respond to coder requests for more information • Process coding rejections and physician responses • Work assigned IDX edits and claim denials • Perform other duties as assigned • Adhere to company policies and procedures, especially HIPAA and confidentiality • Perform the role remotely during day shift hours

🎯 Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent • 3-5 years minimum surgical coding experience • 2+ years of anesthesia coding experience • Current CPC required • CANPC is a plus • Experience with complex surgical coding • Experience with multiple EMRs and documentation types and templates, including handwritten paper documentation and electronic medical records • Intermediate knowledge and working experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF • Intermediate Outlook skills • Ability to read, write, and speak English • Ten key proficiencies • Ability to communicate well with all levels of USAP employees • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Excellent computer skills • Ability to work independently • Ability to self-motivate new projects • Must reside in the United States, excluding California, Hawaii, and Alaska • Must follow HIPAA and confidentiality policies
