📋 Description

• Lead and mentor engineers while delivering high-value products and scalable infrastructure • Set technical direction for product and infrastructure scalability • Own architecture and rollout strategy for critical platform services from design through large-scale rollout and migration • Set technical standards for designing, publishing, and maintaining customer-facing APIs • Own API security, reliability, and developer experience • Stitch together platform services for customer-facing use cases and design clear service boundaries • Partner with data-platform teams on access patterns • Drive RFCs and decision records to document architectural decisions • Expand team review capacity and partner with the Engineering Manager on team health and culture • Build backend systems with TypeScript and Node.js • Contribute to customer-facing React experiences • Use AI tools to accelerate development and workflows

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of backend development building reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant systems • Designed and shipped external or public product APIs, including contracts, versioning, authentication, and developer experience • Systems and service-boundary design experience, with data-layer fluency • Comfortable working in a modern React frontend codebase • Track record driving complex, ambiguous, multi-quarter initiatives to completion, directly and through others • Experience rolling out or deprecating major systems safely at scale • Strong written design communication and demonstrated mentorship • Openness to using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact • Must reside in, and perform all work exclusively from within, the United States, accessing systems only from U.S. locations • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
